In response to last month's decision by NHS England (see NHS letter here) to temporarily withdraw all targets for the universal implementation of Continuity of Carer, AIMS has written to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and also made a statement at September's NHS England's Maternity Transformation Programme Stakeholder Council meeting.
As we have previously stated, AIMS looks forward to a time when we no longer talk much about a continuity of carer model of care, because this will be the standard model of care offered to all women and families. We will continue our work, in partnership with other stakeholders across the maternity services improvement community, in order to achieve this.
