Scottish Perinatal Framework: Alternative Birth Choices Framework document

AIMS was set to review the document Framework for maternity healthcare professionals to support individualised care for women who choose alternative/non-standard birth choices as mentioned in the Campaigns Team Scottish Maternity update published in the journal on 1st June 2026.

However the framework document has since been removed from the Scottish Perinatal Network website. AIMS asked why it had been removed from the website and were told it was temporarily removed whilst further governance and review processes were being undertaken and therefore the document was not currently available.

We hope that this page is of interest, especially to our colleagues in the maternity services improvement community.
