AIMS welcomes the motion F8 proposed by Helen Morgan MP to the Liberal Democrat Party Autumn Conference 2026 on the topic of tackling the maternity crisis. We have written an open letter to her encouraging her to include an additional point in her motion, and call for all women to have access to a community-based full pathway continuity of midwifery carer model of care.
We have also copied the letter to Layla Moran MP and Alison Bennet MP who are members of the Parliamentary and Mayoral Expert Reference Group, part of the National Maternity and Neonatal Taskforce structure set up by the Department of Health and Social Care.
We hope that this page is of interest, especially to our colleagues in the maternity services improvement community.
