RCOG Consultation on leaflets in Assisted Vaginal Birth and Gestational Diabetes

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) recently launched a public consultation on two draft documents they have produced. Both documents were in the form of patient leaflets for pregnant women. The first leaflet focussed on assisted birth (i.e. forceps and ventouse birth), and the second on gestational diabetes. Both documents can be found here: www.rcog.org.uk/en/patients/patient-leaflets/developing-patient-information.
AIMS took part in this consultation by providing feedback. Our feedback on each of these leaflets can be accessed below.

Assisted vaginal birth (ventouse or forceps)

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)

AIMS supports all maternity service users to navigate the system as it exists, and campaigns for a system which truly meets the needs of all. AIMS does not give medical advice, but instead we focus on helping women to find the information that they need to make informed decisions about what is right for them, and support them to have their decisions respected by their health care providers. The AIMS Helpline volunteers will be happy to provide further information and support. Please email helpline@aims.org.uk or ring 0300 365 0663.
